Your last paragraph is so funny, especially the line about therapy. It's an exciting -- and sometimes terrifying -- time for kids when they start school and begin to interact with strangers. I bet your son is having an easy time of it, based on how grounded he must be having you as a mom (as I judge it from your posts).

That is a very adorable Lunch box. Don't feel too badly, I had never thought of these notes to the children before either. My mother never sent notes to school with us. She told us she loved us before we left for school and in the evenings when we got home. Of course she also had NINE children, so that could be a fairly good reason to note write a note each and every day. lol.

My children don't take lunch boxes to school because they eat the school meals. so again, no need for a little note. When my boys do use their lunch boxes it is on a field trip and I"m usually right there with them..so again..a note would be a moot point.

But WAY TO GO for the moms who are that creative to think of such a fun thing to do for their children!

Sometimes I wonder if I was like that when I became a teenager....Of course I'd say no, hahahah! Truth is I was probably too scared of my parents to act out, lol! (Hence my therapy later in life, hehehehe)

When my son was in Kindergarten I had not thought of doing it either and then he mentioned his friend got them. I have to say that whole year it was so sweet because he had an aide that not only read them to him but would write back, I loved them!! Now he is almost 13 and if I dared to say hello while picking him up never mind put a note in his bag he would go straight to therapy and then die of embarrassemtn!! I would send the Carpe Diem notes, they should not early on in life that we are different!! Great story!!
