Hopefully a Fortunate Change

Yes, everything is fine, everyone is alright, although it's been quite busy this past week.  Between a coughing child and some home improvement projects, who can keep up?  But I do try and make sure I keep my addiction to the internet.  That's a promise!

Well, I'm just sort of just quickly checking in here to say hello and also to talk about some changes on this site.  As some of you (although I hope, all of you) may have noticed, I've been doing some tweaking on here.  That's what I probably am obsessed with...perpetual tweaking of my site.  I'm a believer in the 'don't-fix-if-it-ain't-broken' saying but you have to understand that I'm also a (closet) perfectionist and obsessive compulsive.  So, I have been spending probably the last 48 hours 'tweaking'.  I've changed the fonts for my blog titles, dates and side bar titles. I've also decided to change the blog title background photo.  I happen to love this new one because it's a photo I took myself while driving to Wisconsin....or is it Iowa?  I'm not sure now, but let me get back to you on that one.  Anyway, as you can see, it's the side of a mountain and I think it's beautiful, although I'm sure my photo does not do justice to the actual scene.  And yes, there is something cathartic about it but I refuse to explain and interpret for everyone.  You're all intelligent and I'm sure you can figure it out.  It would be interesting to hear your interpretations / observations though so do leave those in the comments section.  I'd love to hear them and comment back if needed!
That and I'd love to know if people still care to read and visit this site!  (Is that too much honesty before noon or midnight?...depending on where you are of course...)

Anyway, the tweaking...and believe it or not, there's one more thing.  I'm going to be doing a new thing, or call it a theme if you will, and I'm actually pretty excited about it.  We will now have Fortune Friday!  Any writer will tell you that one of the hardest things is to come up with material.  As a blogger, it is one of the things I constantly struggle with and let me thank the Chinese for partially solving my problem.  The eureka moment came when, while in the throes of organizing our kitchen, I found that we had way too much fortune cookies accumulated from multiple take-out orders.  So I thought, why not blog about the fortunes contained inside?

Starting this Friday, May 7th, I will be cracking open a fortune cookie and blog about whatever is written on that tiny, magical, mass-produced strip of paper!  The exciting part is that none of us can be certain what it will say or how insanely confusing and grammatically wrong it will be!  Therein lies the challenge!  And yes, I am oozing with anticipation at this very moment.

Needless to say, I am looking forward to reading my fortunes with you each weekend and I hope you find this as entertaining as I envision it to be!

  1. fun! i always like opening fortune cookies.:))
my sister-in-law told me once that you have to eat the cookie first before you read your fortune for it to work.;)

  2. Len, I will try to remember that and resist the temptation to jump to the fortune part. I sure hope these cookies are low calorie ones! haha!

Let me know your thoughts!
